"I'll die if I stay here": the ordeal of Nahima, a teenager trapped by a prostitution ring since the age of 14
The trap of prostitution closed in on Nahima at the age of 14 and a half. Now free, the 19-year-old recounts her struggle. Despite the complaints filed, none of Nahima's pimps have been identified to date.
At just 14 and a half years old, she met a young woman on Instagram. " It was my first phone call, we became friends and I didn't suspect anything ," she recalls. Very quickly, this relationship turned into a trap: to better manipulate the teenager, vulnerable and marked by the absence of a father, the matchmaker made her smoke crack cocaine and cannabis. " I quickly became addicted to these substances ," she confides.
Under her influence, Nahima was then handed over to real pimps. A certain Abdou and other men installed her in an apartment, beat her, drugged her, raped her, and forced her into prostitution. " They threatened to attack my family, whose address they knew, if I spoke out, and waited for me in front of the high school to make me 'work' later ," she says.
Despite her fear, the teenager managed to escape. For a year, she received chilling threats: " You'll see what happens, we haven't forgotten. " But her ordeal began again when she was trapped by young women she was seeing, close to the same network. " It was during an R&B party they took me to, in Montpellier, that everything degenerated ," she explains. The pimps caught up with her and humiliated her: " You're going to be a whore all your life, you're not going to escape us like that ," they told her.
Under their influence, Nahima plunges back into hell. Shots of alcohol, ecstasy, cocaine, cannabis: " I was no longer myself ," she says. […]
